Tape Deck – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: Oct 2025
1. Audio Quality
Tape Deck strives to deliver the highest possible quality in both audio and video recordings. Our team uses professional-grade equipment and 32-bit float recorders, which prevent clipping and capture clean, dynamic sound directly from the venue’s mixer.
However, Tape Deck cannot guarantee the quality of audio sources provided at the event. We are not responsible for issues such as:
DJ or MC performance quality
Distortion, noise, or feedback from the venue’s system
Excessive microphone interruptions or crowd interference
Tape Deck accepts no liability for sound issues originating from the venue, third-party equipment, or artist performance.
2. Music and Copyright
Clients are fully responsible for securing any necessary music rights, artist approvals, or copyright clearances for songs, mixes, or performances recorded at the event.
Tape Deck accepts no liability for copyright infringement, takedowns, or social media restrictions caused by copyrighted music in recorded content.
Once full payment has been made, ownership of the final deliverables transfers to the client. Tape Deck retains the right to use selected footage for portfolio or promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Packages and Pricing
Tape Deck offers three packages: Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each providing a combination of recorded live sets, social clips, and multi-camera 4K video with 32-bit audio.
Details are outlined at www.tapedeck.au/packages.
Each hour of DJ performance counts as one recorded set.
A 45-minute DJ set is still considered one full set.
Additional DJ sets beyond your package allocation are billed at $250 per DJ.
All packages include branding overlays, 5-day guaranteed delivery, and full rights for promotional use.
4. Social Media Clips
The number of social clips delivered is determined by the selected package (Silver, Gold, or Platinum).
Clips are chosen by our editorial team to highlight key moments from each performance, ensuring maximum engagement and visual consistency.
Clients are free to post and share their clips across platforms but may not alter or rebrand them in a way that misrepresents Tape Deck’s work without prior consent.
5. Edits and Revisions
Tape Deck operates with an efficient production workflow to guarantee fast turnaround.
Revisions or re-edits are not included unless specified in advance or agreed in writing.
All deliverables are colour graded, mastered, and produced to professional standards.
6. Branding Placement
Client logos will appear consistently across all content:
16:9 (4K) – bottom-left placement
9:16 (Vertical) – bottom-centre placement
Logo placement remains consistent to ensure a polished and cohesive brand look across all outputs.
7. Bookings, Deposits, and Payments
A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to secure your booking.
A 50% payment of the total package is due 7 days before the event date.
The remaining balance (minus the deposit) must be paid before editing begins.
Final deliverables are provided within 5 business days after full payment via Dropbox.
Cancellations within 7 days of the event forfeit the deposit and may incur additional fees.
Tape Deck does not accept double bookings; once your date is secured, the full night is reserved exclusively for your event.
8. Equipment and Venue Access
Clients are responsible for ensuring Tape Deck has safe and timely access to the venue, including power, space, and direct connection to the audio feed.
Tape Deck is not liable for lost footage or reduced quality caused by restricted access, delayed performances, or interference by third parties.
9. Liability
While every precaution is taken to protect recorded material, Tape Deck is not responsible for:
Venue power loss, technical faults, or environmental interference
Equipment malfunction due to third-party or venue systems
Damages, data loss, or delays resulting from unforeseen circumstances (force majeure)
In all cases, Tape Deck’s liability is limited to the total amount paid for the booking.
10. Model Release
By booking Tape Deck, the client grants permission for the filming of all DJs, performers, and attendees visible within the event area.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all performers, hosts, or talent have been notified and have given consent to appear in recorded footage.
Tape Deck may use short excerpts, images, or behind-the-scenes visuals for promotional use, including on its website, social media, and marketing materials, unless the client requests otherwise in writing prior to the event.
11. Use of Content
Tape Deck retains limited promotional rights to display selected content for marketing or portfolio purposes.
Clients who require full exclusivity or wish to restrict publication must notify Tape Deck in writing before the event date.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming a booking or paying a deposit, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
