Privacy policy
Tape Deck respects your privacy. This page explains what this website collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you join the list, we collect the details you give us: your email address and, if you choose to add them, your name, your Instagram handle and where you play. We also note when you signed up and the rough location your internet connection suggests, such as the city.
When you browse this website, we also collect information about the visit, such as the pages you view, the website or search that brought you here, the type of device you use and your rough location based on your internet connection. This does not tell us who you are.
How we use it
We use your details to tell you about Tape Deck: when the app opens and when workshops are on. We use visit information to understand how people find and use this website so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information.
Analytics and cookies
This website uses the following tools to measure visits:
- Scalus Analytics, run by Scalus, which builds and hosts this website. It counts visits without cookies. It keeps a random number in your browser so a return visit is only counted once.
- Google Analytics, run by Google. It uses cookies to show us how visitors use the site. You can opt out with Google's browser add on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The website's fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them when a page opens. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The website will still work.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us run this website, and only what they need to do their job. That includes Scalus, which builds and hosts this website and keeps the list for us, and the analytics providers named above. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and access by anyone who should not have it. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Seeing, correcting or leaving the list
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask to come off the list at any time by emailing privacy@scalus.app.
Questions and complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
